More on proving the Theory of Relativity

I recall there was some interest a while back when I mentioned my husband was working on the “Gravity Probe-B” NASA project. (I know there are many relativity questions asked in this forum.) He linked me to a online science mag article with an interesting writeup if anyone’s interested. Oh yeah, and they have a MESSAGE BOARD! LOL. Some interesting questions, comments and discussions on it.

I suppose the actual LINK would help!http://slashdot.org/science/00/05/28/1428216.shtml

click on the words “Relativity Mission” for the article

You gonna make us beg for the URL or did you not include it 'cause you wanted to feel loved?

Well here you go sweetie.

{{{{{{voguevixen}}}}}}

Now could you cough up the URL or do you have some other demands as well?

Does this mean that I’m not the only relativist on the board, after all? I was getting so comfortable, in my own personal niche…

Saying slashdot has a message board is a huge understatement, its a large community that’s great at bickering about posted news stories. Getting close to 100 karma.

Minor quibbble with the thread title: You can’t prove relativity (or any other theory). You can make observations to support or disprove a theory. But there is always the possiblity that the next observation will contradict the theory.

Damn, Dr. M stole my line.

Uh, I don’t think anyone familiar with the project is too confused by my title, which was chosen to alert the few folks who had expressed interest in it previously.

And BTW, Silo, I could’ve sworn you weren’t going to post to my threads anymore, or did you forget your lame-ass boasting from all of 3 days ago?
