[/QUOTE] In my words, like it or not, the Republican party has a recent and tawdry tradition of promoting and employing racist tactics for its ends. Of course a single incident doesn’t (and cannot) prove or confirm this. However, a succession of incidents, forming a pattern, can. Your attempt at trying to pin me down with semantics doesn’t negate this point. I’m not saying all, or even most Republicans are racist, but there is ample evidence strongly suggesting the party continues to provide aid and comfort to that element. Talk to me again in November after the next slew of racist emails, buttons, monkey dolls, t-shirts, FOX News chyrons, and whatever else party supporters can come up with to demonize Obama and scare the public into not voting for the black man. I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that most Texas Republicans at the convention got a big chuckle out of those racist Obama buttons. I’m also gonna guess that hardly anyone at the convention raised a peep of protest. ---

Keep in mind, **Frosti** , that Texas Republicans are the Wahabbist sect of Republicanism. Lets just use **Jodi** here as a pretty normal, rational sort of Republican…or. in a word, lonely. Ms **Stream** (who is just about the cutest thing evah!) is a bit towards the right edge. Huckabee, somewhere about four parsecs out, Texas Republicans orbit in the Oort Cloud. They are _out there_! Yusta be, moonbats like me would wait with gleeful anticipation to see that year’s Texas Republican Party Platform for a good ol’ down home hoot. Abolish Social Security (not reform - _abolish!_), bring back the gold standard, execute Wavy Gravy (OK, I’m making that up, but you’d never know…) So, yeah, the fact that this thing only sold four copies? A hopeful sign, brothers and sisters, pals and gals…a hopeful sign. ---

Well, I sort of thought the OP posted the image of the PARC button mainly to confirm that the makers were selling buttons they thought were perfectly appropriate for Republicans, but maybe I’m misunderstanding. Wouldn’t be the first time. ---

[/QUOTE] I’ve attended a number of conventions in my time, and all I can say is that if a vendor at one of _my_ party’s conventions were offering racist paraphernalia, regardless of whether or not the party brass had approved of it (hint: not) we would get torn to _shreds._ Probably literally. ---

I’m not pointing at some random Republican and painting the rest of them as racists based on that indivdual’s actions. This was at a sanctioned Republican event. I’m not saying all Republicans are racists, but if you support a group that tolerates this kind of thing at a state level you might not be so quick to be offended.
