In fact, I love the Sims still- even though I haven’t played in a while. There is an update coming out called “Hot Date”, which I can’t wait for. I have a very active social life of my own, but I love using my creative brain to dream up scenerios and such for my Sims. I think it’s a healthy outlet for my frustrations, too. I wasn’t too thrilled with House Party, but it did add some fun stuff. Hot Date looks like a winner to me, as does Simsville. Does this make me a “gamer?” Zette ---

I love designing and making the houses. Playing with their little minds is OK, but the home creation is what I live for. That includes furniture aranging, landscaping and general organization. _sigh_ I gotta start playing again, now. Gee, thanks a million, **Zette**. 🙂 Oh, and I couldn’t get the top link to work. ---

AHH! Just looked up Hot Date on amazon- I GOTTA GET THIS!! ☹ And I have to wait till November, why, oh WHY? I guess it can be a Thanksgiving Present. Man, this is AWESOME. ---

On my Christmas list this goes. I hope this lets me play the mass-murdering-psycho again. In one of my Sim neighborhoods, I had a family that would invite neighbors over, and then wall them up in a back room and wait for them to die of starvation. Gradually I depopulated the entire neighborhood. Being able to pick up NPCs downtown just means that I can radically increase the body count. Woo hoo! ---

Zoggie, I wasn’t too impressed with House Party,and I really wanted to love it. I would wait until Hot Date comes out if I were you, as they seem to include previous editions updates in the new updates. Zette ---

Important question: I want get an expansion for the game. I, like **Gravity** , get off on the house design. Usually I build a house, furnish it, move someone in, live them out for a few weeks, get sick of them, tear down all the houses in the neighborhood, and start over with new designs. Eh, it keeps me happy. The thing is – I only have the original game. I never picked up Livin’ Large. Now with all the other expansions (House Party - Hot Date - _one other [?]_), what the hell should I do? If I get House Party, do I miss out on all the Livin’ Large stuff? If I get Livin’ Large, what’s the point to getting House Party? Anyone? Beuller? A little help? ---

Jack, Great question. I installed all of mine right on top of each other, so I don’t know for sure. I will be re-installing soon on my new (ordered) laptop, so I can experiment a bit with it and see if the Houseparty expansion gives you the Livin’ Large stuff, too. I don’t think it does, otherwise people would just wait until several updates are published prior to buying. If I’m not mistaken, the Houseparty upgrade gave you some of the Livin’ Large updates, but not all. I don’t believe it gave you some of the game changes, such as Alien abductions, new careers, etc. Not positive, though. Zette ---

We killed off a lot of our neighborhood by deleting the way out of the luxurious pool we had built. Of course, this was my boyfriend, the psycho, who did this. We ended up devoting a plot of land to be a cemetary… ---

My mother plays sims every day for about 2-3 hours, she has a family for every letter of the alphabet and kids with matching first names ie shelly smith, sam smith, susie smith, sarah smith… ad nauseum. It used to be cute but now I think she may be around the bend. She is now starting another sim village with all her relatives in it. Some body needs to get a life of her own. I don’t get it? Dude, believe me, you have to play. When you aren’t playing, you have no idea how addictive it is, but when you are, you’re in the void. People can tell you how great it is, but until you play, you won’t know for yourself. ---

Z, I have tried to play but can’t seem to get into it. Comes back to the basic issue of “Are you an indoor person or an outdoor person?” I would rather be out in the “real” world doing stuff… But wait here I am at 7:30 pm playing on the message boards… HMMMM Kamikazee “Some of us learn from other people’s mistakes; some of us have to BE the other people.” ---

It is an acquired taste. Take me for example - I can’t “play the game” of The Sims for more than about 15 minutes before I get sick of it. But I could spend hours building the houses. That’s just me. ---

Well, building the houses is a huge part of the game, in my opinion. I built a beautiful casino that I love (complete with a dance club, loads of slots, multi-stalled bathrooms, buffet dinner) I love designing the homes and the rooms. I’ve even built a house similar in layout to my own and I like redecorating and getting ideas. Zette ---

I was hot into sims for some time, but what frustrated the hell out of me was that I had to pamper the bastards. I devoted quite some time (well, relatively speaking considering testimony here) to three seperate people and all of them required that I tell them what to do all the time. I was really hoping to get them to the point where I could just…sorta…_watch_. 😃 Never happened tho. ---

My 10 yr old set off the fireworks in the bedroom, and all the beds caught fire. I set up a family of men, they had no jobs, just married the women in the neighborhood, got all their money, then put them in a pen in the yard till they starved. Some seriously sick shit there.
