Everything about George Costanza can be forgiven when you consider \*\*\*his parents. \*\*\*Two of the most annoying characters ever. And I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them annoy the hell out of each other at every opportunity.

Okay, I’m nearing the end of the first season now and I’ve gotta take this back. She’s obviously a lot more than the perpetually grumpy old nag she was made out to be in the first few episodes.

God _damn_ this show is good! I should have gotten to it sooner. Wait, no. Then I wouldn’t have anything good to watch now.
Heh heh. That’s what I said when I first started. And now that I’ve watched them all, sometimes I say to myself, “If only I’d watched them slower…I’d have new episodes to watch now!” Sigh.

Andy, the brother-in-law from _According To Jim._ I know, some of you are going to say every character in the show is annoying and nobody is going to admit to actually watching it, but I do, so what the hey?

He is the stereotypical overweight loser nerd who can’t hang onto a girlfriend for more than six weeks. He’s continuously disrespected at work by Jim, when he is a competent architect who can work for anyone and make big bucks. He could probably even start his own business, but he takes Jim’s guff because he’s family despite the fact that he and Jim clearly have a strong friendship.

I’m glad to see that this season Andy has a girlfriend who truly seems to love him for what he is. I hope next season the relationship leads to a trip to the altar for him and he finally gets some real happiness instead of bitching about being alone with his Star Wars toys again on Friday night.

Actually, she didn’t claim his wife’s ziti as her own–she got him to finally eat it. She claimed someone else’s dish…possibly chicken marsala (I think maybe Carmela’s?) as her own.

Carmela’s sausage lasagna, with whole basil leaves in the layers (which, by the way, is absolutely wonderful - I stole that idea from The Sopranos).

From movies, I submit Willie Scott from Temple of Doom.

Most of Indy’s women were annoying, shrill harridans. I thought the Nazi chick was best…tough, no-nonsense girl, and hot to boot. I didn’t like the brunette, either, trying to be so tough for no earthly reason and coming off as a total bitch.
The Q. They/it were so effing annoying, I made a promise to myself during the first season of ST:TNG, if it/they came back, I was gone.

They did, and I left.

And I love tricksters. I just hate sanctimonious, all-powerful pricks.
I hate tricksters, and I hated the Q.

I found the whole premise of Q ‘wanting to experience what it was like to be human’ as ridiculous as the notion that I would want to experience what it’s like to be a hamster.

When did Q express a desire to be human? He thought humans were idiots; he was turned into a human as a (quite effective) punishment.

I think you’re conflating some episodes or characters or series or whatever.

I can the John deLancie Q getting turned into a mortal and thinking it sucked.

I can recall him wanting to do Janeway, which I thought was quite reasoable; I’d do her too, only his reason was so that she could bear him a little Q baby to annoy the continuum.

I can recall another Q desiring to be allowed to die, which is sort of like wanting to be human, but not really.

I can recall the Olivia d’Abo Q raised as a human having to decide which race she wanted to be. Now that I think about it, that’s the closest example I can think of; her parents wanted, at a minimum, to get out of the continuum and chose life as humans as their exit.

But I defy anyone to point to the John deLancie Q ever wanting to be a meatbag.

I don’t feel too terribly embarassed to admit that I watch this show, but Andy is my favorite part and I watch it in spite of the whiny wife character. Good god, does that actress have any other reactions in her reperatoire than “Awwwwwww, honeeeeeeeeeeeey” squeaked out in that mousy voice? Gack, what a totally unappealing woman / character.
Well, Nedry’s a villain who gets his just comeuppance. Yes, his uppance did come. ance up he came. Etc. My point, and I do have one, is that with Nedry you got a resolution to your feelings of hatred. “Oh,” you thought upon seeing his firist scene, “I do hope that guy gets eaten by a T-rex.” Then, during his death scene, it’s “Oh! he’s being eaten to death by dozens of tiny dinosaurs, so it lasts longer. Cool!”
Nedry was eaten by a lone _Dilophosaurus_. In a Jeep. It was the annoying jerk in _JPII_ who got eaten by the _Compsagnathus_ususes.

Of course, Burke’s uppance came as well. So there’s that, too.

No list of annoying TV characters is complete without Mr. Haney from _Green Acres_.

This, of course, is complete lunacy 😉 .

I happen to love, love, love Green Acres. I’m convinced it is the very pinnacle of Western Civilization and is, in reality, extremely subtle, nuanced, and a show of incredible depth.

Either that, or I was usually so baked out of my head that it seemed that way at the time.
