I got a 6" stainless steel chef’s knife. It’s not a top of the range knife, but it’s solid and a bit chunky and the balance is absolutely perfect. Not to mention the edge is stellar. I feel like a cooking ninja when I’m chopping with it. I love my husband. ---

Not my gift, but I got my niece and nephew a Wii… The look on their faces was priceless. 😃 My best gift was rather mundane, a nice new winter coat, with a removable liner that is actually quite handsome on its own. ---

A handmade quilt from my mom. One side is a recycled comforter with a B. Kliban print she got from my granddad years ago; the other side is a collection of family photographs (scanned and printed on cloth) centered around a cross-stitch I remember from my early youth that my great-grandmother made. ---

An old, worn bear in a dirty, ragged pullover. My sister haunted ebay for ages until she found the same brand bear that I used to have as a kid. I slept with that guy every night until I was 12 years old. He was my “Velveteen Rabbit”. When I got too old for bears I gave him to my sister. I don’t know what happened to him after I moved away from home to go to college. He looks just like I remember too. (Except that the head fell off of my original bear and I sewed it back on-sorta like Frankenstein’s monster.) ---

There are so many cool gifts here. I don’t think I could own that scythe without giving it a try on some marsh straw. I’m so klutzy now it’s probably a good thing I don’t own one.🙂 ---

I got from [skullsunlimited.com](http://skullsunlimited.com) a lovely pound or so bag of miscellaneous natural animal toe bones. Some are big, some are tiny, some have significant old-aged-animal damage… They sold out quite a while ago; my mother kept this stored for 6 months to give to me! My chihuahua really, really couldn’t wait for me to open it up, and is disappointed he cannot have them. ---

A few Sundays before Xmas TheKid went to the Mall of America wiith the youth group to buy presents. She asked me to write down a wish list and off she went with money I gave her. She proceeded to spend all of the money on Xmas presents for her friends. _sigh_ (I suppose I should have been happy - last year she spent it all on herself) So I was not expecting anything from her. Yesterday I found a big box with my name on it from her under the tree. She had worked her butt off for my sister to earn money and bought me a gorgeous terry robe. It’s long, thick, and scrumptuous. I got all sniffly. ---

I got shit-all. We had a Credit Crunch Christmas - Secret Santa style, maximum value £5, from a charity shop. I got an ice cream scoop in the shape of a pig, a garlic scraper, and a bookmark. Never mind, I already have everything I want (that costs less than £20,000). 🙂 ---
