The reason for this is that San Andreas was designed to be a more all-encompassing experience for the player and more like a simulation of California than just a mere “video game.” But the downside of that is that since so much work went into the surroundings, and all the other characters (and there were so frickin’ many of them and most of them were cliches, in the Grand Theft Auto tradition) that the character of CJ himself was lost. ---

I’ve been playing TIE FIGHTER lately and I want to nominate Grand Admiral Zaarin. While he’s not physically anything, the guy is very smart and managed to put serious hurt on the the Empire by crippling their advanced TIE production. And of course, he also very nearly suceeded is both kidnapping the Emporer and killing Dath Vader at the same time. He also had the entire Imperial military trying to stop him while he was running around loose. ---

And I was probably thinking of the tall-haired singer of [Vince Vance and the Valiants](http://www.vincevance.com) Oh, well, I’ve got another nit to pick. _Splatterhouse_ was only in the arcade and on the TG-16.\* _Splatterhouse 2 and 3_ were Genesis exclusives. Also, there was a version for the NES that never made it out of Japan. Probably because Rick was done in SD or “chibi” style. I’ve played it, and it’s quite a bit more light-hearted than the rest of the series. \*If you want to get _really_ anal, there was also a port to the FM TOWNS computer in Japan.
