Valerie Bertinelli was a mother on _Hot in Cleveland_. Granted, she was at her most beautiful on the last season of _One Day at a Time_, and never got to be a mother on that show (almost-- she and her husband almost adopted a little boy, but at the eleventh hour, his foster family applied to adopt him). Still, on\* Hot in Cleveland\*, she was Valerie Bertinelli. AJ Cook on _Criminal Minds_ is nothing to sniff at, either. And I’m gonna nominate Melissa Rauch for a runner-up position. Pauline Collins is one of the most beautiful women to work in television, but she’s never quite been a mother, or I’d put her in for the #1 slot. But on _Upstairs, Downstairs_, she had to babies that didn’t make it, and on _Forever Green_, she was a stepmother who was actually raising her husband’s children, as their own mother was out of the picture (I can’t remember whether she was dead, or just out of the picture for some other reason). Anyway, Honorable Mention for Collins. ---
