checking on statistics…1) “sexual assault” is a much broader definition that includes “rape” and 2) the FBI statistics include Hispanics and whites in the same group as “white”. ---

Question: when the DOJ compiles lists of crimes by race, do Mexicans and other Latins get counted as “white”? ---

Yes and no. The DOJ asks the offender’s race in the NCVS using usual five categories (white, black, Indian/Alaskan native, Asian, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander) and askes whether the offender was “Hispanic or Latino” in a separate question. It then excludes people of Hispanic origin from the racial groups (they get their own category in the tables). You can see an example on page 7 of this [PDF](http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/cv12.pdf). In questionnaires other than the NCVS, they sometimes track race and ethnicity differently, and may not ask the Hispanic origin question. ---

A few suggestions for the originator of this thread: \*If you’re truly seeking an answer to your question, seek credible statistics. \*Math is truly a great tool. When in doubt! \*Investigate what goes into categorization. Many U.S.-born Hispanics are categorized as white. ---

I think it came from the migration away from the sun! Vitamin D disorder for sure. What would drive a person to go away from there place of orgin. The English for example, were the reason why Columbus came over to this land for gold and would kill all(peaceful or not)it. Unfortunately, passed down in the DNA, still lives today. It was the taking of Africans from their country(whites being the minority),having them fight the Indians and Mexicans, possible reason for the divided Nation that we have. I myself(white looking women) had had 10 attacks by white men( some one on one some goups, for possible rape if I hadn’t fought back. 5 of these attempts were in college. Men will try to defend there own sex, saying I put myself in that place, oh I don’t know anyone that would have done that or you are exaggerating, which I understand. No one wants to believe that their own would have done that. I never reported any of these attacks, wish I would have just to get the right numbers. Sadly at a fest this weekend 3 6 foot men, came walking towards me and pushed me out of the their way. Were surprised when I regained my balance that i pushed him back. And now we have Donald Trump saying to keep the Mexicans rapist out of here, another example of he is one as well. Be strong and support the women who have been attacked! ---
