Speed Racer was cool but the Mysterious Racer X was the Mack Daddy…I think Racer X was the only person on that show who spoke at a normal rate. ---

**Dewey** , great call about Donald and his family. I always liked him, and I love the fact that he seems to be the most “normal” disney character. Yeah, Mickey has his dog, a house and his girl, but Donald you can see as a working man pushed a little too far by life and always taken advantage of by his family. _Justice Legue_ was mentioned earlir, and for the record, I do like the show, but it is faaaar too slow. Fave’s gotta be Hawk Girl - man, a babe with a _bad_ temper! Anyways - **HATE** : Any character that completely defies anything in the universe to come out on top and completely unscathed, i.e; Droopy, Magoo, Woody Woodpecker, etc. Scrappy Doo, Chicken Hawk, Jerry Mouse, Jerry Mouse, Jerry Mouse (A hundred thousand times! Blast that vermin!!!) everyone else in Scooby Doo. Him (from PPG) Probably others I can’t think of. **LOVE** Sandy Cheeks (Hi-yah!) Eric Cartman Eustes (from Courage) Mandy (from Grim & Evil) And others, but mostly I just enjoy whole shows. ---

**Hated** All those comic relief critters in disney films. Get a new idea. Dr. Hibbard. I’d rather have Dr. Nick operate on me than have to listen to this guys guffaw anymore. That other Dr. from Futurama. **Lukewarm on** Bart. I dunno, he just seems holy uninteresting anymore. Maybe just overexposure. Most of the King of the Hill cast. Most of the Futurama cast. **Smitten with** The Family Guy crew. Homer can do no wrong. (Ok 'cept when the writing stinks). ---

Another vote for Justice League. I have a soft spot in my heart for Super Friends, from my childhood, but Justice League is excellent. I also like Powerpuff Girls, and always ALWAYS HATED THAT LITTLE SNOT NOSED PUKE SCRAPPY DOO. **PUPPY POWER MY ASS, SCRAPPY!** (exhale) I’m better now. ---

But then you go all out parody, and throw in references to everything from the Beatles to Godzilla to Rashoman, and do with great artistic style and comic timing. Genius! The humor comes from: “How would superhero kids react to normal kid stuff like: eating paste, taking a bath, schoolyard jealousy, bullies, birthday parites, eating vegetables, bedtime, the tooth fairy?” The juxtaposition is hysterical. A supervillian crashing a slumber party in disguise? great stuff. Some favorites: [ul] [li]_Boogie Frights_ was a take on the boogieman, and Bubbles’s fear of the dark, with a cute Star Wars parody thrown in.[/li][li]_Mr. Mojo’s Rising_ was a spoof on the “secret origins revealed” superhero cliche.[/li][li]_The Bare Facts_ was a very clever experiment is storytelling with each of the girls narating the story in her own “style” with the art switching back and forth between their different natures. (Buttercup’s POV was gritty and noiresque. Bubbles’s was drawn in crayon, etc.)[/li][li]_Criss Cross Crisis_, my all time favorite saw all the characters switching bodies. (opening up some funny self-referential nitpicking when characters that had fingers swapped with characters that didn’t.)[/li][/ul] Anyway… rent a DVD of the early episodes, and see if you still have that opinion. I just can’t fathom it. ---

No one has mentioned my favorite, although a one-hit wonder, the Michigan Frog (From the cartoon where the construction worker finds the frog that can sing and dance, but only for him) Love Donald Duck, the old Johnny Quest, Bullwinkle. Hate: King of the Hill. Newer, 3D looking cartoons Dexter’s Lab, especially DeeDee (does that drawing stink or what?) Rugrats Scooby anything Baby anything ---

I’ve never watched it, but I hate them just the same. Most Disney characters. All Hanna Barbara characters, yes, even Scooby. I liked it as a kid but, well…I’m grown up now. ---
