I agree. David Hockney is in that category of “If this painting were by anyone other than David Hockney, it would be worth $5 at a yard sale.” ---

Those damn cavemen at Lascaux! Always with the bison, deer and horses. Enough already! jeesh! 😉 Warhol irritates me to no end. Jenny Holzer and Paik Nam-june need new shtick. ---

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned [Slug Signorino](http://slugsignorino.com/straightthumb.htm). As much as I enjoy reading Cecil’s columns, the artwork leaves a lot to be desired. ---

Those paintings by Hunt are amazing. How can you guys trash them so much? I think they’re fascinating to look at. The amount of detail is astounding. The way he captures the texture of the wood piano and the glass windowpanes in the background is pretty admirable. Personally I don’t see how anyone could hate Thomas Hart Benton’s paintings. Why do you dislike them, **Encinitas?** ---
