Pooh and Piglet
Ratty and Mole
Vladimir and Estragon
I’ve currently got this written on the white board in the loo:
“I wonder what Piglet is doing,” thought Pooh
“I wish I were there to be doing it too.”

Oooh, although they existed in real life I will go with the fictionalized versions of Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp in Tombstone
Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Why you doin’ this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: …I don’t
Andy and Red
I didn’t read the thread, just searched it for Shawn and Gus, that was my first thought. Shawn and his dad would be up there too.

Kirk, Spock, Bones - it was a trinity. Kirk/Spock was the strongest pairing, Bones/Spock the weakest, but each of the three brought out the most in the other two. Or any two brought out the most in any other one. Or all three were so strong that empires would fall before them.
C3PO and R2D2
The Doctor
Yeah, whenever he met himself or multiples of said person. Lots of harumphing, sure, but loyal to each other and what they/he stood for.

I think it’s save to assume ElvisL1ves meant Spongebob and Patrick. Spongebob might think that Squidward is one of his best friends, but it’s pretty one sided.
I’d have to argue against Spongebob and Patrick. Yes, they are good friends but I think the level and intensity of the friendship is pretty imbalanced in Patrick’s favor. Spongebob is a much better, more thoughtful friend who really would do anything he could for Patrick. It’s been evidenced multiple times that he will do whatever he needs to to help Patrick, even at his own expense. However, it has also been evidenced multiple times that Patrick is horribly self centered and an awful friend. He often hurts Spongebob emotionally and has no regards for his ‘friend’s’ feelings or even his possessions. In fact, it might even be argued that Squidward is a much better friend to Spongebob in that, while he is often verbally abusive, he doesn’t really do much to outright hurt him and has even come to help and appreciate him at times.
SpongeBob and Patrick are close, and I agree that SpongeBob is more emotionally invested in the friendship than the starfish, but it’s more because Patrick is so astonishingly, earth-shatteringly stupid than because he doesn’t care about SpongeBob. He doesn’t know - he can’t know - what is really expected of a true friend when the chips are down.
Yes!
That’s a great one.
I loved that series and would love it if they ever made it into a movie or miniseries a la Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.
