I have watched a hell of a lot of movies and shows in my life, many of them containing really gross and gory scenes. But by far, the _most_ disgusting scene I can think of, to the point of really, truly making me feel _physically nauseous_ - was the egg-eating scene in _Cool Hand Luke._ What is yours? I don’t want people to post a list of multiple scenes, I want them to try to pick the _single_ most revolting. ---

_Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom_. The sex scenes (even the gay sex scenes) were actually pretty tame. The torture scenes were more comical than horrific. But the coprophagia scenes were disgusting. ---

I almost ran out of the room when the documentary Dear Zachary began to reveal that: The mother killed herself and Zachary by jumping into water and drowning themselves. I still get angry thinking about it and it has been years. ---

Had to think about this one. Most gross or gory scenes in movies are ultimately too fake for me to suspend my disbelief. But there is one scene I remembered that was not fake. At around the 1:30 mark, "a special effects accident caused actress Jean Seberg actually to catch fire in the scene where Joan of Arc is burned. (She [Seberg] sustained only very minor injuries.) " That it looks worse than it apparently was in no way removes the horror of it. That director Otto Preminger left it in the film gives it an extra edge of distastefulness. ---
