What is the most embarrassing CD, LP, cassette, etc. in your music collection? You know, the one that when your friend who is going through your collection says: “What the hell are you doing with this?” you say: “Where did that come from?” or “I got that as a freeby. I would never BUY that!” For me, its (get ready for this) _The Right Stuff_ by the New Kids On The Block. I swear to God it was a freeby. Honest. ---

Wow, Kepi… It took a lot of courage to admit that! I’ve been digging thru my collection for the past two days, and I honestly can’t find anything I’d be ashamed of. I know I sold off/traded in most of my crap CDs a few years ago. Lemme think about it and get back to you. _groan_ This is an easy one. I own a copy of (and listen to, from time to time) At Worst, The best of Boy George and Culture Club. This was my dirty little secret until SO moved in with me. She found it and has mocked me about it ever since. Not to mention told all of our friends at a party. Hell, everyone knows now. Well, my tastes in music run to the super-obscure indie variety - i.e., on the “Your Favorite Bands” threads I list mine and ask if anyone else here knows them, and nobody **ever** does - so my like-minded friends are always shocked to see an Alanis Morrissette CD on my shelves. I wouldn’t say it’s really embarrassing because I really do love that album (well OK maybe it’s a **little** bit embarrassing :)) but it certainly has thrown a few people who know me for a loop. Oh yeah … and Stevie Nicks’s album _Belladonna_. Pure pseudo-goth cheese… but I love it! ---

I have a number of CDs that are kinda…kid-ish. Two Animaniacs discs, Schoolhouse Rock, and Kermit: Unpigged. Those, I try to keep hidden from my friends. ---

an oldie but baddie, just put away for the season–the Beach Boys Christmas Album. Not only that, but I’ll admit that my foavorite song as a kid was “We Three Kings” You’d have to know the album to know how embarassing that is–it’s sung in the style of a funeral dirge, and off-key to boot. ---

Three words: Color Me Badd Ditto. I owned it at one time, but have since given or thrown (certainly no one bought it at a garage sale) it away. This was a gag gift while in college. I supposedly resembled one of the freaks sans the cheesy, 80’s Prince/The Artist beard. Wait a minute **Sue** , is Vera Lynn really embarrassing? A funny coincidence, I just listened to side three of the _The Wall_, in which Gilmour sings so hauntingly of Ms. Lynn. So I figured she must be wonderful. The most embarrassing CD in my collection is hard to pick. The goofiest name, by far, is _The Hottest Mariachis in Mexico_, but I like Mariachi and it’s a good CD. The one I would least like any of my friends to hear would be **J.D. Crowe and the New South**. I was under the impression it was a bluegrass album, but it sounds like run-of-the-mill country-western like you’d hear on one of those radio stations I never listen to. It’s kind of weird to be a big bluegrass fan and really dislike country music at the same time. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up buying a lot of whiney pedal-steel unit shifters when what you’re looking for is good foot-stomping mandolin music. ---

Hmm. I take back what I said about J.D. Crowe and the New South. I haven’t listend to it in a long time, and the only song I remembered is kind of whiny and bad. I’m listening to it now, though, and I’m enjoying. It’s not the foot-stompingest stuff around, but it’s pretty good bluegrass. * * * Any similarity in the above text to an English word or phrase is purely coincidental. ---

The sad thing is, I paid for the first 3, and bought them all within the past few months. I’m also looking for something by Snow. Well, I’m a _corn_icopia of bad CDs. Lanna, I can hook you up with the Snow MP3s off of **my** _12 inches of Snow_ CD. I own Shaq _Diesel_, but this I got free as the 12th free BMG CD, hey it was big at the time, and I was out of other options. I own a handfull of one-hit-wonder Rap CDs, but am glad to say that I don’t think any of them are **bad** and therefore embarassing. Onyx, Wreckx-N-Effect, K7, Young MC were entertaining at their time, and still get spun late at parties. Lanna, Im offended that you think Sir Mix-a-lot is embarassing, his rap is pretty damn good, if you like old school rap. I have 3 of his CDs. I like half the world have a MC Hammer CD, but I have both _2 Legit…_ and _Please Hammer…_. Of course I still have some hair bands’ CDs, but nothing embarassing like Ratt or Winger. I even own _The Simpsons Sing the Blues_, but I was only 14 and it was cute in a campy sort of way. The CDs I am truly embarassed of, I chalk up to adolesence. I own Vanilla Ice _To The Extreme_. This isn’t so embarassing, A couple of sangs were catchy, and millions of teens bought into it. I however hung on the bandwagon, a shade to long. I own both Vanilla Ice _Extremely Live_ and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Soundtrack featuring Vanilla Ice.
