I LOVE Arby’s… I hate Wendy’s since they got rid of their salad bar years ago. I don’t hate the Olive Garden but it is average. I can cook food just as good as them. And I ain’t much of a cook. OK it’s not HORRIBLE by any means, but if an average Joe can cook just as good as a resturaunt something is off ---

Based only on food, I would have to pick Ruby Tuesday. They stripped both the menu and the restaurant of anything remotely interesting, their “salad bar” consists mostly of pasta salads, and they put shredded cheddar cheese in their rice (nasty!). I sent a complaint in through their website about the rice, and never heard back from them. ---

Shortly after the move, my little sister was feeling particularly homesick and wanted something approximating New Mexican food (which is its own regional sort of variation, not quite northern mexican but not quite tex-mex either). So we all went to Chi Chis that night. I think we all expected some bland midwestern take on tex mex, but how bad could it really be? My sister started crying as soon as we got our food, and didn’t stop for hours afterward. I’ve heard people describe food as looking and smelling like dog shit, but until then I never knew it could actually be true. Thankfully that particular Chi Chis went out of business, and we found a handful of vaguely decent midwestern-mexican restaurants. ---

I rage if someone insists that we go to Applebee’s. Their menu is full of pictures of food porn that in no way resemble what you get, and the food is mediocre and way overpriced. ---

P.F. Chang’s-----ewww! Why oh why??? I even saw a commercial last night advertising P.F. Chang’s frozen entrees. We were served “pot stickers” filled with BONES. Not only is the food and service bad, the atmosphere is cartoonish and incredibly loud. As another poster said previously, there are plenty of real, authentic Chinese restaurants. (the only reason we went was due to the hype–never again). ---

(the only reason we went was due to the hype–never again). Always liked Chang’s, honestly. As far as authentic goes, I’m reminded of the Dalai Lama’s restaurant in Indiana. The menu is very explicit that their cuisine is only an approximation of Tibetan food, as most American diners just wouldn’t like what they eat in Tibet. Hey, the man’s honest! ---

My daughter moved to Virginia a few years ago. She misses us, she misses her friends (though she’s made new ones), and of course she misses Daddy’s 24 Hour Road Assistance program, with Bonus Emergency Cash Dispenser. And another thing she misses is Mexican food, cooked by real Mexicans. Each time she comes back, there are several restaurants that she insists on going to, just to get a taste of home. She says that there are plenty of Taco Bells and such in Virginia, but nothing that compares to the food she gets here. Damn…I guess I’m going to Fiesta for lunch. Gonna get a cheese enchilada and a pork tamale. ---

He said he didn’t like PFChangs because their food was “too spicy.” Me “Huh?!? You put tobasco sauce on your scrambled eggs!” Him: “No, I I don’t mean it’s too hot, mean they use too many spices!” Ooooookaaayyyy . . . ---

Denny’s I can tolerate mediocre and shitty food. That’s what I expect from these places but you don’t mess with bacon. Ever. The last two times I went to a Denny’s they fucked with my bacon and I haven’t been back in almost 10 years. The first time I had finished my breakfast and was waiting for the check and still had not received my bacon. When the waitress brought me the check I reminded her of the bacon and she came back 5 seconds later with raw bacon. Seriously it was like she pulled it out of the fridge and breathed hot air on it and then brought it to my table. The last time, at a different Denny’s, the waiter brought me my breakfast including the bacon but it was raw. I sent it back and he brought it back still raw so I sent it back again. Ten minutes later he brought me charred bacon. At this point I was almost done eating so I just left the dead bacon untouched on the table. ---

There are guys in there right now, ripping out the insides. Last week, I noticed another location about three miles from here had closed, and about three weeks ago, I found out that the one in my hometown had closed. I think the chain is having problems. Serves them right. Their product is crappy, and it’s overpriced for what you’re getting. You would think they would have done something to improve the quality and lower the price. However, it seems their grand strategy to get people in the doors was to introduce this ridiculously overpriced line of chicken wings called Wingstreet. Naturally, it didn’t work. All I can say is “Good Riddence” and wonder when the Little Cesars’ that is going in to the shopping plaza just adjacent is going to open. Not that that will be any better, but at least it’ll be half the price. ---

I voted Cici’s because their “food” is disgusting, but truthfully, there are a whole lot of places on that list that wild horses couldn’t drag me into. I never knew I was so picky. ---

i like pizza hut? yes, it’s greasy, but it’s not in that orangey form that exudes out of the mozzarella that you find in other greasy pizza spots. plus, being greasy != evil. i think mcdonalds has killed a lot more people than pizza hut has. nathan’s as a dark horse for inadvertently spawning the sport of competitive eating? ---

They may have rescinded the discrimination policy, but they still score the lowest of all food service companies on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality index. This is why I voted for them as well. I don’t really like their food much, either, but if the poll had been simply “worst food”, I would have picked Arby’s or Long John Silver’s. But anyone can serve bad food - it takes a different kind of company to be actively evil. A case can be made against Macaroni Grill, too - their food has a ludicrous amount of fat and calories (their spaghetti & meatballs has over 120 grams of fat!).
