That’s the K1A1 I mentioned last page. Heavier bolt, shorter bolt travel, had a problem firing two rounds so damn fast it sounded like one? Cool. My friend has one and didn’t know how to zero it. Same as the M16. I fired it a lot to make sure the sights were good.

Various military and hunting weapons–pistols, rifles, shotguns, machine guns, grenades and grenade launchers (including the MK-19–it was cool), claymores, whatever explosives I could get them to let me use when I was in that engineer battalion . . . wow, a lot of stuff that goes boom or bang. And I don’t really even like guns.

Let’s see . . .

I once threw a lassoed a person off their bicycle as they were riding past my house.

Me and some friends once rolled an enormous snowball down a hill and took out a bunch of girls.

I did some damage nailing somebody in the head with a pine cone once.

I once hit a bully over the head with my lunchbox.

I’ve messed around with a lot of “martial arts weapons,” but never actually used one on another human being.

That’s all I can think of at the moment.

Actually the only time I ever used anything as a weapon, it was my fists and that was back in College. That’s not true, actually. I did once hurl the dreaded yellow snowball at an enemy.

Well, I qualified with the M 14, and shot Sharpshooter with a 45 caliber Semi Automatic Pistol. I fired an M1 Carbine, too.

But I got an Expert with the Nike Hercules Anti Aircraft Missile System. (I had help firing that one though. My part was putting it together.) (We didn’t use any nuclear warheads, but I can put those together, too.)

I am a lousy shot with the rifle, by the way. They cheated to get me into the Army. I’m damned good with a missile, though.

While not exactly as exotic as some other weapons that have been posted, my dad has a Lee Enfield .303 (standard rifle used by Canadian/British infantry in WW2) that he bought for something like 20 bucks back in the 60’s. Unfortunately, he modified the stock (as, get this, a school woodwork project; imagine trying that scenario today) so it’s no longer vintage, but it’s still pretty darn cool. Anyone know if there are places to take guns to modify stocks? Somewhere down the line, I’d like to get it modified back into its original form.

Not especially exotic, but I fired a vietnam bringback AK-47, and they’re fairly rare since importation was banned in 1968. Also, a select fire romanian ak-74, which are fairly rare for similar reasons - this one was a converted dealer sample, I believe.

A sten, an Uzi, and a dozen more common guns.

I semi-own a 1941 marked finish mosin-nagant - and given the supply and men situation in the continuation war at that time, there’s a very good chance that the rifle saw combat.

Mine would have to be an AR-15 and a 1903A3 Springfield rifle(from what I can tell, was made by Remington during WW2).

Ok, yes, you were using a magazine. The AK-47 won’t “accept a clip”, because no rifles accept clips. Magazines accept clips. You can “charge” AK mags with clips for speed loading.

The simple rule is clips go into magazines, magazines go into firearms.

A sheet of printer paper.

It was just after I had gotten my Black Belt. A cow-orker was talking to me about the Martial Arts and we somehow got onto the subject of weapons. I made a point about how _everything_ is a weapon, if you think about it. He picked up a sheet of paper and demanded I show him how that was a weapon.

I grasped the paper firmly in both hands, holding it taut. In less time than it took him to blink, I jumped up and slashed it across his throat - about 1/2 inch from contact, and sat down just as he was starting to jerk back.

Point made.
