IMO, best I’ve seen so far was the scene in _Down Periscope_where they are running silent on the ocean floor. There’s an ongoing fart serial running in my household. It starts with my passing wind in a noisy manner, and continues on with 2 cats and one dog all being startled, and finishes with all three of them staring at me for a very long time afterwards. This occurs at least 3 times a week, and despite the fact that it’s pretty much the same thing each time, it never fails to crack me up. Extra credit if I fart again while laughing at the startled animals. ---

Peter Sellers in the" fart in the lift" (elevator) scene in the Revenge of the Pink Panther is considered a classic. Apparently they had real difficulty filming it because they all kept corpsing all of the time. ---

This is actually kind of a “faux fart” scene - the sound is actually from Clouseau’s Godfather costume leaking - not real flatulence. I think the “Blazing Saddles” scene is the clear winner. Mostly because there were so many westerns with that exact dinner scene, and the “aftermath” had to have taken place. One of my favorites is a really small scene in “10” (Bo Derek, Dudley Moore). Moore is searching for his dream girl, and visits the priest who performed the wedding ceremony. This old woman (maid) comically waddles in (spilling everything on her tray) to deliver tea, and she lets one loose. The funny part is that this big Great Dane (or doberman ?) immediately jumps up, and scurries out of the room. Moore is totally perplexed, and the priest explains, “We always kick the dog when Mrs. (can’t remember her name) breaks wind.” ---

An obscure b-movie called “Pinball Fever”. The hero is a fat video game champion who’s always got junk food in his hand and farts constantly, the bad guy is a local govt official with a nympho wife he can’t satisfy who wants to close the video game parlors. The video game junkies play a trick by making a good looking young man seduce his wife, but when the lights are out, replace him with the obnoxious fat guy who jumps on top of the ready woman, and he’s constantly farting as he’s making it with her…she’s dismayed to find it’s the best sex of her life. Later in the movie, the bad guy’s henchmen kidnap and tie up the obese video king, so his friends will lose a video game tournament that will result in them losing their favorite video game parlor. Tied and gagged, the fat guy’s only way to signal for help is by continuous farting…and miles away you see the woman look up, smell the air, and she calls out “My love!” and follows the scent in time to rescue him so he can win the tournament. Stupid movie…but it sure stuck in my head over 30yrs…lol ---
