They might trample you, or they might toss you up in the air with their antlers. Especially if you look at the males funny during mating season. ---

Later that same day, one of our bosses pulled the same nice lady away from her work and into his office to ask her to identify a song he heard on a radio in the restaurant downstairs and wanted to buy. (He is big and bald and white and very much a Georgian.) He then ‘sung’ a bit of a hip-hop tune and she told him what it was called. Did she know 'cause she’s black? Nope, her 14 year old daughter has the same cd by Snoop Dogg and plays it to annoy her mother. “Oh stewardess, I speak jive.”, runs through my head all the time now. ---

Sometimes it seems as though my fifth grade through end of high school was one long stretch of such experiences. (But of course it probably was only a handful.) Still, that makes me think of the new show coming up about parents being “as smart as a fifth” grader, or some such.
