During a conversation with my wife tonight, we were reminded of a t-shirt we had the pleasure of running across on a gentleman who appeared to be shopping with his wife and kids at Target a few months ago. Front: “Want to spend the night?” Back: “The couch pulls out, but I don’t.” Really not much else to be said. So I ask you to share stories of the most offensive t-shirts you’ve seen (or worn yourself!) in public. Note: I’d appreciate it if we could limit this to t-shirts you found offensive because of the message or image on the shirt, and not solely because it supported a politician or cause you disagree with. ---

I saw a trashy looking guy in New Hampshire wearing a t-shirt with the Trix cereal rabbit on it. The caption said, “Silly Faggot, Dicks are for Chicks!”. I know it is inappropriate but I couldn’t help but laugh at his decision to wear that and the fact that somebody decided to make and sell those. ---

I don’t have much to add on the matter of offensive tshirts (I have spent years in and around the punk scene and that kind of thing barely registers with me anymore), but I have a side comment. I lead bar trivia and “My Couch Pulls Out But I Don’t” is the single most common team name I have come across. At least 4 different teams have used it in the time I’ve been doing trivia. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but there’s honestly not usually much overlap in team names. ---

I once saw a guy at the mall with a t-shirt that said “FREE DICK RIDES”. Not one to mince words, I guess. ---

This one was rather subtle. And as a “joke” it was pretty funny. But not as joke it was pretty much a “fuck you” to pretty much the rest of the world. There was an X in the center of the shirt labeled “me”. There was a big circle around that. Inside the circle were some other Xs labeled friends or family or some such. Or maybe it wasn’t X’s but the words. I forget. Outside the circle were the words “everybody else” or something like that. The circle was labeled something like “region of people I give a shit about”. I might wear that to a gathering of mostly friends as a joke. I would not wander around Lowes Hardware store in it. ---

T-shirt Hell usually has ones that I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing… like “I swear officer, I didn’t know she was 3.” “Yes, this shirt says ‘fuck’ on it, it also says ‘twat’, ‘cunt’ and ‘machine washable’.” “It’s not gay if you beat them up afterwards” “Uncle with benefits” “I’m not getting jiggy, I have Parkinsons” “Women are like parking spots, they’re whores and liars.” “I eat more pussy than cervical cancer” “In the ass? That’s exactly the one I thought of when I saw the thread title. Several years ago my roommate saw a girl wearing that shirt in the rec center of the university we worked at. ---

(I was working for a power company and he was one of the guys who cut back the trees from the power lines, so it was at least covered up with equipment when he walked out the front door of the office.) ---

A lot of band shirts have been pretty offensive, IMO. I was fond of my “Too Drunk to Fuck” and “Nazi Punks Fuck Off” shirts (both are Dead Kennedys shirts) when I was a teenager, not too many others liked them. And if they hadn’t been so damn _common_ in the day, the “I am the God of Fuck” Marilyn Manson shirts from the early 90s would have been a bit outre. ---

I saw [this one](http://i48.tinypic.com/5vwxls.jpg) in Cambodia in 2002. I can’t decide whether it is supposed to be offensive or not. Celebratory? Commemorative? Either way it’s a weird thing to wear. ---
