I prefer the term “cow pie” as in, “That’s a cow pie we don’t want to step into” for “that’s an issue we don’t want to get involved with.” Gives things a more earthy tone.

Now if you going to get into _misused_ words, that opens a whole 'nother kettle of fish. You got _nauseous_ vs. _nauseated_, _sensuous_ vs. _sensual_ . . . I mean, the list would literally be ginourmous.
