I reckon this prize must go to “One Week” by The Barenaked Ladies. In three minutes, they reference everything from Akira Kurosawa to Leanne Rimes. Any other contenders? Perhaps something of Kevein Smiths; generally a lot of pop culture squeezed into the running time there, eh?

But we’re only talking about pop culture here. I count about 50 things in the song that are pop culture and not history, and a two-hour movie (must less a book) could easily beat that. It might be the record for a song, but that’s just as well- one _We Didn’t Start the Fire_ is too many.

Yeah, but I’d classify those as \* culture \* references. John Meyers Meyers spent an awful lot of time in the library blowing dust off of obscure books.
