David has suggested that we hold an election for the most popular poster of THIS section of SDMB. Let’s start it! I have no nomination at this time but, given a few minutes I could suggest one or two! Let the ballots roll! ---

When this gets tossed I would ask those who post in MPSIMS to limit their votes to posters who post in GD more than MPSIMS. ---

I nominate Libertarian. He is relatively new but as far as I know there is no one who dislikes him. And there are many who do like him. I would have nominated David but that would be too much like sucking up, 😉 and besides there are those who do not like him. Dr.Fidelius would have to runner up for me though. Posters that assume more than one identity are ruled out from the contest in my book so there are at least two or three that are popular that I couldn’t nominate for that reason. Ken ---

Will we be read with more interest if we win? Do we get to win arguments based on our score? Ok, I’m REALLY new, but I nominate that whoever DOES win gets to be Homecoming Queen/King of the board. I mean, it IS a popularity contest, isn’t it? (I knew a kid who changed her name to Mothra and campaigned for Homecoming Queen under the slogan “Come on! It’ll piss the popular kids off!”) ---

Wow. You guys really didn’t pay attention to the one in MPSIMS, did you? 🙂 You don’t _nominate_ people. You vote for them. I can’t recall exactly how Coldfire did it, but I think people voted for their top 5, and then the points were all totaled (I don’t remember if points were assigned – 5 points to #1, 4 to #2, etc.). Maybe we need to have Coldfire come in here and take care of this one. BTW, there is absolutely nothing wrong with kissing up to me. I just wanted to point that out. 😉 ---

Libby: I was thinking of those without people who don’t like them and are around in the threads enough to be noticed and are liked. Firefly is caught in the web of his own ego and you threaten him so I am not surprised. I think David likes you. Gaudere, no comment. Spiritus doesn’t get around much and is a tad too acerbic to those with dissenting opinions to be that popular. Phil, I forgot him, he could be a nominee too. Poly doesn’t post enough to be that well known and liked. Sake? Maybe, I haven’t know too many to go after him with knives and he does post a bit. Possibly. Tris, again I think not known enough but I could be wrong, his posts are good and I know of no one who dislikes him. tracer is too mean to Christians and THEY comprise a large percentage of posters here now. slythe, the same, kinda.
