David Crosby, an arrogant SOB if ever there was one, was pretty honest in an autobiography he wrote.
I never read it but I remember Evelyn Keyes 1977 book “Scarlett O’Hara’s Younger Sister” was advertised as “she made more men than movies”. Which apparently isn’t true from what one wag said. I did read some excepts from Britt Ekland’s “True Bitt” where she talked about her marriage to Peter Sellers and romances with Warren Beatty and Rod Stewart.
There was the Jim Morrison biography “No One Here Gets Out Alive” where author Danny Sugarman starts out saying Jim Morrison was a god, or at least a minor deity, and proceeds to recount all kinds of salacious stuff to convince you he wasn’t. at least not when drinking, which he did a lot of.
19th century Frank Harris felt he had enough material for four volumes on “My Life and Loves”
Back when Adam West was Batman on TV, his partner Robin was played by Burt Ward. Burt Ward wrote a most peculiar memoir called “My Life In Tights”, dedicated to his kids! It was peculiar because most of it was typical my-life-in-show-biz interspersed with bizarre pornographic ramblings about his and supposedly Adam West’s encounters with lusty female fans. And the awful dilemma the costumers had in containing his massive private parts in the Robin outfit. Strange!
Being a rock geek, I actually read this. Not all that great - discusses who she had relationships with, but few sexy details, and she comes across like a bit of a twit, IMHO…
I don’t recall any dishing, though I read it many years ago. IIRC, Niven comes across as a perfect gentleman, and a gentleman never discusses his ladies.
I searched that one and got an “erotic” selection from the apple store :). Googled it and I’m getting mostly Buffy references. I’ll keep looking though, thanks.
It’s been a while since I read that, but I remember it differently. The painful problem with the tights was that leg hairs worked through the material, so that removing the tights inevitably and painfully pulled out a bunch of hairs from his legs. Rather like waxing a whole leg at once – men aren’t used to that kind of pain!
The dilemma about the size of his ‘bulge’ was a big concern for the network censors, not for him or the costume makers. But since it was officially a childrens’ show, the censors didn’t like too obvious a bulge showing. (And, allegedly, Adam West was concerned that Robin’s bulge not be larger than Batman’s bulge.)
