> I just thought Cats was the ultimate in schmaltzy, music for the masses, touristy crap. Andrew Lloyd Webber is widely regarded as a hack and Cats is the ultimate that His Horribleness created. Anytime you want a shorthand for showing that a character is stupid or has terrible taste, you can mention that they like Cats.

> I mean…[come on](http://www.freewebs.com/rttmunkustef/tugger1.jpg)! If nothing else, it probably gave us a lot more furries than we need.

I’d honestly never heard that before. (In fact, my impression was that ALW was a major talent or something). And I still don’t get it. _Cats_ was good, c’mon. It was derived from T.S. Eliot’s poetry- a real honest-to-God actual literary poet!

Whatever, I still like it.

More correction - sung by the Supremes in the 60s, but written by Holland-Dozier-Holland who wrote most of their hits.

> Okay, mine might actually be worse than all of yours combined. I have never, ever told anyone this before and I am probably going to regret mentioning it later, but my favorite book of all time is [Alas, Babylon](http://www.amazon.com/Alas-Babylon-Pat-Frank/dp/B000VAUIU6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1254933656&sr=8-2). I reread it once a year and after I finish reading it I get out a pen and some paper and plan exactly how I would go about surviving after a nuclear holocaust. (Well, since I moved to NYC my plan is to fry quickly and quietly and leave behind a crispy corpse. When I lived in TX I had really in depth plans written out.)

I like that book. I don’t read it yearly or make up a plan to survive a nuclear attack, but I think it’s a good read.

It’s not my favorite book or anything but I certainly did like it. But I like post-apocolyptic after-the-bomb-drops books. A lot.

WAG: A word or phrase that only your current/future self (or maybe your significant other) would know, in order to identify yourself unmistakably to that person should you ever find yourself time travelling and changed in appearance enough that they wouldn’t recognize you.

So, when I was a kid I read the _Animorphs_ series by K.A. Applegate. No big deal, it’s a kid’s series.

Thing is, I’m 22, and I only recently got rid of mine. And I kind of didn’t want to. I did it anyway because I have NO room on my bookshelves, and I haven’t read them in ages…but I was sad anyway.

(Also, I may or may not have had a crush on Ax. Yes, _the alien._ Stop looking at me like that.)

My current guilty pleasure? Anime. Specifically, shounen, or anime written for teenage boys. Yes, I know, One Piece is a cheesy kiddy show. I don’t care. The writing is amazing and it’s about pirates. Also, some of the male characters are hot.

The eyes on my \*Cats \*t-shirt glowed in the dark. Fear me.

I watched Bret Michaels and his girls on Rock of Love Bus. But not the whole season. I still feel a bit sleazy.

I freakin’ love zombie movies. But I’m not ashamed of this one - I tell everyone, with pride.

Okay, I am not that bad. When I run into a problem I immediately start figuring out a solution so it is only natural for me that I create a plan for just in case type scenarios. It is kind of like playing the nuclear apocolypse version of Oregon Trail in my head. It’s funny though, since I moved to New York my apocolypse plan is Die Quickly and requires no more thought than that. Its kind of comforting, really, except it ruins the fun of making a survival plan.

I used to love, I mean straight up obsess, over Piers Anthony’s Incarnations of Immortality series. When I was eleven or something something.

I like that Julie Stiles movie where she accidentally falls in love with the Prince of Denmark.

And I’m a sucker for any action/sci-fi/fantasy whatever.

I liked the movies **Mannequin** and **Weekend at Bernie’s**. I was 17 when **Mannequin** came out, not a tween.

I played my tape of **Les Miserables** (the musical) every day until the tape broke.

More recently, I enjoy rewatching **High School Musical**. I pretend that it’s for for the kiddos, but no.

I feel hypocritical coming into this thread, particularly since my last post was about how I think Cats is cheesy. My guiltiest of guilty pleasures could almost surpass Xanadu.

The year was 1995. I was 12, and had just discovered Christian Bale in Little Women and another movie.

That movie was Newsies.

It’s not a good movie at all, the Noo Yawk accents that the newsies have are atrocious, most of all Christian’s; the coreography is some weird mishmash of Broadway and contemporary (well, early '90s); Robert Duvall gives an overly hammy portrayal of Joseph Pulitzer…

…but I love the songs (well, most of them), and Christian Bale is so hot, and the movie as a whole is just so hilariously bad it’s awesome!
