# Most surprising "cause" call ever

The “no-call” list is for commercial enterprises only, so, like everyone, I still get a fair number of solicitation calls from nonprofits, lobbying groups, and the like.

Most of these, it’s clear why they – literally and figuratively – have my number: my two alma maters, NOW, the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club, Democratic candidates for public office, etc.

Just got a call asking for me by name.

“May I ask who’s calling?”  
“So-and-so for the NRA.”  
:eek:  
“The National Rifle Association?”  
:eek::eek:  
“Yes ma’am”  
:eek::eek::eek:  
“Thanks, but I’m a Quaker – I’m pretty sure we don’t have anything of interest to say to each other.”

That was just plain weird.

Wonder if some prankster gave them my number?
