I think that if I understood the OP, I’d agree with you.
It just shows how optimistic and sunny **SkipMagic** is, that he moved it to GD and not the Pit.

I’ll comment on that in this thread because it’s been asked of me in the other, and I no longer want to hijack it any further.
I chose GD because, although I feel the OP should have expected the debate he got, I’m not yet convinced he posted that thread in anything other than good faith; that is, he honestly believes what he’s saying and isn’t just trying to rile anyone up. And, to varying degrees, he had been answering questions. How others respond to the OP should not necessarily be the reason a thread is moved to the Pit.
If the GD mods eventually move the thread to the Pit because this forum is a better fit, however, I won’t be sad. (But you’re right in that it was a close decision, and I did choose the forum where exploration of his assertions could continue without seeing endless, repetitive cries of personal idiocy, etc… Not that those don’t have their place from time to time.)

Oh, I agree with you completely that it was on the line. Certainly, the OP was GD material. It seemed to me, though, that it was beginning to degenerate into a Pit thread, and a mod who was less positive probably would have just thrown it in there as a foregone conclusion.

Skippy, I usually have great respect for you, but any post where the OP lays out the rules for how and if he will respond to a replyshould automatially consign that thread to the pit. He never sought debate and only wanted to answer questions that supported his tenuous position. I look forward to Randi kicking his ass. Too bad you don’t have to put up 10% of the challenge reward to play.

I appreciate you had a difficult choice.
Morris starts polite (but very restricted in what he will discuss).
Howver he simply ignores any post pointing out his mistakes, and rapidly descends to abuse.
I can’t decide if he is obsessed or just wants to earn hits for his deluded website.
Can you be banned for simply ‘lowering the tone’?

I read it as spinge-ears. Rhymes with binge-ears. Yes, I know, not logical; there’s an extra -e- in there. Still, that’s how it reads to me.
The problem, **sping** , is that “ing” is so recognizably prevalent in written English, that it’s probably nearly impossible for most people who read your name to separate the “in” from the “g” without a great deal of effort. And since you’ve proven yourself worthy of any but the most minimal effort, it might not be a bad idea to petition for a name change. Otherwise, your name will say “spin\_gears” to exactly one person: you.
