[/QUOTE] That one had a mini-catharsis that was wonderful as well - when Liam Neeson, taken prisoner, wraps the rope around Tim Roth’s throat, and uses him as an anchor to climb down the rope. This both effects his escape and ruins Roth’s voice forever. Take that, you effete bitch! ---

A great moment that is literally cathartic is in _Spirited Away_ when the girl pulls out the rubbish that is choking the river spirit in the bath: “That’s no stink god!”, then a very relaxed and relieved “aaaahhhhh”. ---

**Remember The Titans** , when the bruiser from the opposing team gets taken _down_ by the Titan’s linebacker, who then proceeds to point straight at the other team’s coach before moving on to the next play. After all the talk the other coach had done about “beating the chocolate” out of the Titans, it was a super-satisfying scene. ---

Nice, I was going to start such a thread if I remembered enough such moments. Two that I can think of; From the original “Flight of the Phoenix”, I’ll spoiler it. When some unknown Arabs come near the crash site, an English Captain and a Doctor go off to investigate, the English sergeant refusing to help. When the pilot goes off to see what’s happened, he finds both dead, their throats cut. The sergeant seems quite happy at this and just when you think to yourself that someone should smack him across the jaw, good old Jimmy Stewart does just that. I can’t abide the henchman Chester in [DOA](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.O.A._%281950_film%29) (again the original) so its rather pleasing that… …after punching our poisoned hero repeatedly in the belly and gloating over his pain, Chester is outwitted and ends up taking a bullet to the gut from a policeman in a drugstore. And yeah, “ **I** … have **had** … enough of **you!** ”. The Shatner delivery helps in this case 😉 On the theme of Star Trek, although its probably the wrong way around for this thread, I liked the moment when Khan thinks that he’s paid back Kirk for what happened after he was marooned on Ceti Alpha V. Almost for the look on Khan’s face as much as [that line](http://www.khaaan.com/). ---
