Didn’t Emilio Estevez guest star on _Two and a Half Men_? I wasn’t a regular watcher of the show, but IIRC, Estevez _didn’t play_ Charlie Sheen’s character’s brother, and that was the joke? ---

Along those lines, Lecy Goranson played Becky for most of the run of _Roseanne_, but Sarah Chalke stepped into the role for a couple of season, then Goranson returned. After Goranson returned, there was a scene where Chalke played a mother who came by trick-or-treating with her children, and Roseanne had a line that went something like “What a sweet girl; I wish we had a daughter like her.” ---

^It seemed rather creepy in the opening credits when they morphed Goranson into Chalke then back to Goranson. Sarah Chalke was too sweet for that role. ---

The first one that came to my mind was Patrick and John Wayne, and for that matter Harry Carry Sr. and Harry Carry Jr. Like the two Waynes both actors specialized in Western roles. Senior was a star and his son never reached that status. Now that I think about it; Western character actors Noah Beery Sr and Jr. too. Also, Lon and Lon Chaney Jr. Senior made character acting an art form. Sean Flynn copied his famous father Errol Flynn in Son of Captain Blood. ---
