# Mother-In-Law Passed Away Christmas Eve

I’ve tried to. I’m not sure how good a job I’m doing, but he seems to be okay with whatever he’s feeling at the moment.

And to everyone else: Thank you for sharing your stories and encouraging me to just be there for my husband. I’m pretty sure he’s handling things internally as well as he can and if I just give him enough time (and listen and empathize), than I’m positive he’ll come through this alright. Surely, that’s the key.

Too late to edit, but I just wanted to add how much you all are making _me_ feel better about this. I just don’t know what I’d do without this place.

People deal with grief in their own way, and it usually takes a bit of time. Just support him and as long as it doesn’t interfer in his life in a major way (like he takes to his bed and won’t leave), give it time.

That’s all you can really do.
