Last evening an 8 year old boy and his friend snuck up to the roof to play. He fell off the roof and died. At **5AM** Fox News is at this boy’s door “interviewing” the distraught and barely coherent mother. Back the fuck up, channel 5! This isn’t groundbreaking news. You don’t need to ‘be the first’ with this story. Why do we need to see this blubbering woman so early in the morning? Why are you in her face less than 6 hours after her eight year old son died to ask her “How do you feel?” I’m writing FOX 5 and telling them how disgusted I am. ---

How is that even news? I can think of worse things that have happened in my neighbourhood today that are as newsworthy as that (read: not). ---

I don’t know who decided that making people cry and asking them “how did X make you feel” when the answer is obviously “awful” is part of journalism. It’s trashy and incredibly annoying. ---

Not to mention very disrespectful to the subjects of the story (read: “people being exploited”). ---

It’s just part of the general trend towards vicarious living… living your life through others, the quite ludicrous hysteria regarding so-called ‘celebrities’ for instance. ---

So, uh, was she, like, pissed that her kid was dead? 'Cause my mom was pissed when I fell off a roof and died. After she resurrected me using black magic, I got a stern lecture … and I was grounded for a month! ---
