Yep, they are dangerously insane. What I object to most is the intentional ambiguity of their rules. And, as evidenced with Saving Private Ryan, they will not grant an interpretation up front even when they are approached with a specific, well defined question.
Vigorous enforcement of nebulous rules – it’s a recipe for intimidation.

Unfortunately, the American public is voting into office politicians on both sides of the aisle who agree with this crap. Those in office who disagree are too afraid to say anything, because it will be used against them come re-election. It is very sad that the general American voting public does not understand the abuse of the power it is giving its government, and instead numbly agrees to continually expand the power our government is abusing.

How odd it is that the advocates of government repression and the erosion of the first Amendment are the ones who yelp the loudest about “freedom.”
Freedom is slavery, indeed.

Wow. That post rivals one by **Lib** in inscrutability. After rereading it a few times, I think you’re implicating the Bush admin and their followers as those who yelp about freedom yet practice government repression. Nicht wahr?

I’m being compared to **Lib** , the Yoda of the Carolinas? :eek:
I thought that it was obvious that I’m referring to the GOP and their allies as the hypocrites who talk about freedom but prefer authoritarianism in practice.
And the “freedom is slavery” line is one of the 3 principles of IngSoc, the ruling philosophy of the society depicted in George Orwell’s _1984_.

I’d like to expand Worldy’s rant to include that dumbfuck racebaiter Tony Dungy for calling the MNF skit of this week “racist” because it showed a black man in a locker room with a white woman jumping into his arms. Where’s the racism? I thought sexually promiscuous skit with people of two colors was _progressive_, not _racist_. WTF?

OK, to be clear I am **not** supporting this point of view (having not seen the skit, I have no intelligent opinion on it), however, my understanding is that it is supposed to be perpetuating the stereotype of black men “going after” white women in preference to black women.
BTW, I totally got what **gobear** was saying. It didn’t seem vague at all to me.

I know what he’s saying about the skit, but it’s still a bunch of bullshit. It’s PC, whiney, crap. It takes a lot for me to say something like that, too, because I have to constantly argue with people who use “PC” as an excuse for why everything happens to white people or in the favor of a person of color.
