I got bit/stung/whatever by one in my sleep in Tahiti. I was dreaming at the time that a 2-pound wasp was injecting its venom into the middle of my back, and then slowly realized it was not entirely a dream and I really was being attacked by a nasty critter. Most of my body went numb for 2 hours except a surge of intense pain with each heartbeat. ---
