"Lucy accepted, and that was that. Whether Moto would have eventually done the same without a Pit thread, I don’t know. He may well have, but the Pitting at least got his attention and got some other people to prevail on him to reconsider his remarks, which to his credit he did. I havn’t often, or maybe ever, been on the same side of an argument as Mr. Moto, but in general I haven’t found him to be an overly dirty sort of debater, the “Jew hater” innuendoes were out of character for him and I think just represented a bit of a bad hair day for a guy who is usually at least civil and respectful if not always agreeable to the board’s leftist cant. The fight is now over. The fighters have left their corners and gone back to their dressing rooms and now you’re trying to revive the original insult in an even more overt and malicious manner than Moto did. What the fuck is wrong with you? ---

I imagine there’s some disagreement on that point. I hope there is. There is a Mrs. Moto, and she should indeed be nominated for sainthood. I hope, though, that the reason for this isn’t my behavior. She seems to tolerate me just fine, from all appearances. We managed to have three kids inside of two years, so she must like me well enough. You don’t like my politics. Fair enough. Among family and friends, I keep political discussions to a minimum, as is generally considered polite. This board is an outlet for me for that kind of debate, as it is for a great many people here. Anyway, for you to accuse me of assholeish behavior only invites pot-and-kettle comments, **rjung**. I do have my faults, and often glaring ones at that. But you’re not in a position to criticize, near as I can tell. ---
