:smack:
OK, so I managed to successfully replace and charge the brand new battery. (You’ll have to allow me a brief moment of pride since I previously hadn’t done anything more mechanical to a vehicle than to add oil or brake fluid. )
I haven’t had a chance to take it out for a good test-ride yet, but I should be able to do that Thursday evening. In the meanwhile, just letting it sit and idle for about five minutes with an occasional slow twist and untwist of the throttle, it seems to behave itself. That is to say, it started with no problem (I didn’t even have to get on the throttle at all to keep it running after starting it the first time). The lights, turns signals and indicators seemed to be operating at full power any time I was on the throttle at all. When I left it to just idle, I could see a very slight flicker of all of the lights and indicators. Nothing that made it seem like the bike was about to die, but just a flicker that seemed to be in time with the pulsing of the engine.
Does this mean that the motor still isn’t getting enough power from the battery, or is that slight flicker at idle something fairly normal on a motorcycle?
