Movie "A Scanner Darkly" (animated, with Keanu Reeves) *Spoilers*

One of the “twists” came to me, and while I didn’t guess it, it just didn’t have the punch it needed to have.

I didn’t think I cared enough for the fact that the other actress had the other change-suit thing. [It’s been too long since I’ve seen it.] I mean, that was supposed to be a shock, and it wasn’t. I didn’t guess the twist beforehand, it just didn’t come out right.

The entire, lets make people crazy with one drug, and sell them another drug to cure them, now that, I liked. Or treatment program, or what ever.

If rotoscoping = the animation on top of live acting / what that one brokerage firm was doing a year or two ago on their commercials, then, yeah, I guess it wasn’t truly needed, but it tipped the balance for me, to want the dvd. I came across it at a price that I could agree with.

I saw it on DVD a while ago and thought the casting was superb, the rotoscoping a nice technique that suited the film, but the movie itself was a bit underwhelming and generally unremarkable.

Not a bad film, but not an especially memorable or noteworthy one either, IMHO.

I think that’s about where I am with it. I also think I’d like to see it again, to see if I can make more sense of it - there was stuff going on that just confused me.

I just did so – and would have done so two days ago if you’d flagged it (used the “report this post” button).

Most mods don’t read all the posts in all the threads in their forums, so waiting for a mod to come along and see a message mid-thread like this isn’t terribly effective.

S’alright - I didn’t care too much if it was fixed or not. Thanks, though.
