I recently obtained a DVD player. I have started a list of movies that I wish to purchase, rather than rent repeatedly. I couldn’t decide which to start with, so I had the bright idea to go through the list alphabetically. I haven’t thought of movies for each letter. And I ran into a conflict at “B”. So here’s my partial list. Please give your opinion on which “B” movie to get first and fill in the others. For the B’s I’d choose Bottle Rocket. Definitely, definitely. Tho Brazil would be better IMHO. Or Blazing Saddles or Ben Hur. I see you’ve got 2 Kevin Smith movies listed. Might I suggest Jay and Silent Bob Stricke Back? Or John Q. And you simply _must_ have the Criterion edition of Time Bandits. 😃 I don’t think we have the same taste in movies, but I’d fill out your missing categories with: Fifth Element or Face Off Idle Hands Legend Near Dark or Nightbreed Q (yes, it’s better than Queen of the Damned) Unbreakable Very Bad Things Willow or Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory Young Frankenstein (no contest here) Z…Z…Z; almost drawing a blank here. Unless you’ve got a fetish for bad Scott Baio movies (Zapped), I’d say one of the Zorro movies. ---

Fantasia 2000: Although this was originally done in Imax, so it might lose a lot on a small screen. I’d love to see the _Rhapsody in Blue_ sequence again. The Importance of Being Earnest: Funnier than _Gosford Park_,much funnier. L. A. Story: Sweet, smart and funny at the same time, my favorite romantic movie. (Which might explain a few things, actually.) And as great as _Raising Arizona_ is, I’d have to go with _The Right Stuff_ for R. ---

F - Fight Club, Forrest Gump, Friends (all 8 series 🙂 I - Independance Day, In The Bedroom, In The Line of Fire J - Jurassic Park, JFK, L - Legend of Bagger Vance, Lady Vanishes, Last Emporer N - Network (astonishing movie, OK DVD), Q - Quick and the Dead (I love Sam Raimi), T - Terminator I/II, Total Recall, Tin Cup, Third Man, Three Kings U - U571, Ulee’s Gold, Under Siege V - Vertigo, Vanilla Sky W - Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Y - Yound Guns I/II, Yanni Live at the Acropolis (only joking :D) Z - Zero Effect … if you are starting to build a DVD collection then I’d recommend downloading [DVD Profiler](http://www.dvdprofiler.com) It lets you search for all movies on DVD and keep track of your collection. Great piece of freeware. ---

Why are there so many “F” suggestions? Thanks everyone, I don’t know how I missed Unbreakable and I had completely forgotten The Joy Luck Club. A few others are listed that I’ve not seen, but now I know what to rent. And you scare me, **Horseflesh**. Two excellent suggestions, but then you also listed _Willow_ and _Zapped_!
