Art titles come and go in fashion. You can track the shift from minimalist, even absent front titles (film makers can shift them to the end by paying fines to the various guilds) to the high-art, high-concept titles that are virtually short movies in themselves (most Bond films, Watchmen, others in just-past years).

There’s a trope I picked up long ago: that any movie beginning with a hard rock song almost certainly sucks. Can’t think of too many exceptions.
