# Movie ID, please

The “look” of this movie leads me to believe that it was made some time in the early 70’s. It is the tale of a pair of teenage lovers, who for some reason end up living together away from their parents. They start out being very uncomfortable with each other, but for some reason end up having sex. The girl gets pregnant and the two plan to have the baby themselves, but the ending of the film doesn’t take you asfar as the actual birth of the baby.
The scenes I remember:
1. One or the other of the main characters wants to get into the bath, but is embarrassed to undress in front of the other, so they walk backwards to the tub to avoid full frontal nudity.
2. Once the pair have become lovers, there is a scene where they eat the same hot dog by starting at the same time from opposite ends and ending with a kiss. Which I always thought was kind of icky.
3. After they discover the girl is pregnant, the boy goes to the library to look for books on birthing and gets strange looks from everyone there when he tries to check them out.
4. By the end of the movie, they have been discovered or something, and it is hinted that either the boy’s or the girl’s father is going to descend upon them and break up their happy home. For some reason, they don’t bother to show any of this, and the final scene is of the boy leaving the house to go to town or something, and turning around every 5 seconds to wave goodbye to the girl again.
The whole thing is very cheesy and B-movie-ish, but it has been stuck in my head for almost 15 years now. Please help me.

I noticed you are from Tokyo, so just out of curiosity - is this film in Japanese, English, or some other language? I don’t know what the movie is, unfortunately, but perhaps we can narrow down the possibilities a tad.

No, it’s in English. It might actually have been British…
This is one of those movies you see when you are too young to understand them, but for some reason images from them get stuck in your head…
Man, this thread has had like 700 hits so far, and only one response. This movie must be more obscure than I thought…

You sure it’s not this movie? It was made in '88 so it probibly isn’t.
These 2 had sex, but it was in the dark and their first time (and got the gal pregnant), and then one was later taking a shower, and I think the other walked in bacwards so the one in the showere didn’t see all off her/him and she/he didn’t see anything either. Then the guy fishes for a comment on how “big” he is.
I don’t know… probibly not the movie. John Zarchen was in it with Molly Ringwald. I could see them doing the hot dog thing. It said there’s a “twist at the end”, but I myself forgot how it ends

It might be _For Keeps_. Your description sounds a lot like the part I remember, but I also thought the baby was born during the movie. Anyway you might check this link at the IMDB:
