Looking for films that are both A) **worth seeing** due to historical importance, artistic achievement, weighty/thought-provoking subject matter, and/or any other criteria one posits for “worthiness,” and B) **extremely likely, if not absolutely guaranteed** to produce a negative emotional reaction in the viewer. I’m reluctant to offer additional examples, because that’s a bit contrary to the notion of “thread games,” but some possible general notions might be “harrowing documentaries” (of which [the initial entry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titicut_Follies) is one), “heartbreaking dramas,” “pessimistic dystopias,” and so on. Looking for movies that are both “bummers” and worth seeing anyway.
