## Movies that in the opinion of many (or in your opinion) are two movies jammed into one.

1. Stripes. - After the graduation, the “second movie” with the secret weapon in Europe is a letdown.

3. Full Metal Jacket – The first half is an excellent movie about turning raw recruits into Marines and the psychological effects of doing so, and could easily have ended with ‘Pvt. Pyle’ shooting Sgt. Hartman and then himself. The Vietnam deployment and battles seem like they were just tacked on to extend the run-time.

4. Sorry to Bother You - A goofy comedy about a lovable loser falling upward into situations increasingly beyond his control while trying to have a meaningful romantic relationship is superimposed over a weird dystopian movie about the extreme effects of runaway capitalism. Both are interesting films but I’m not sure it ever completely clicked - it’s like they were trying to make _Brazil_ but kept getting distracted by Tessa Thompson.

5. Hancock - Will Smith is a superstrong, supertough amnesiac in the first half; in the second he regains his memory and we all wish he hadn’t.

7. X-Men: The Last Stand - Too much going on in the movie is a disservice to the Phoenix Saga. Jean Grey comes back to life, gets super powerful and evil, and can only be stopped by Wolverine. Also there’s a cure to the mutant gene.

Diamond won a Razzie and was nominated for a Golden Globe for the _same performance_. I thought it was a good performance in a film that never should have been made in the first place.
