**Remakes that actually were an improvement on the original** 1. _The Parent Trap_ (Hayley Mills version) improvement on _Twice Blessed_ 2. _The Maltese Falcon_ (1941) 3. _Casino Royale_ (Daniel Craig version) _…ANYTHING would have been an improvement over that original abomination starring Peter Sellers_ 4. _Little Shop of Horrors_ (musical version with Rick Moranis beats the Roger Corman version) 5. Of Mice and Men (Gary Sinise version) 6. _Victor/Victoria_ (1982) - remake of _Viktor und Viktoria_ (1933) and _First A Girl_ (1935). I admit I haven’t seen the German original but the British 1935 one is surprisingly good for its time and subject. But still not as good as Julie Andrews and Robert Preston’s version. ---
