**Sequels that were (at least arguably) better than the original film** 1. Aliens 2. The Empire Strikes Back Arguably, this was because George Lucas didn’t write the script (written by Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett), nor did he direct it (he hired Irvin Kershner). ---

**Sequels that were (at least arguably) better than the original film** 1. Aliens 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. Terminator 2: Judgement Day The first is a classic, but the sequel took it to another level with a fuller backstory and (at the time) superb special effects. ---

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior _(released in the US as “The Road Warrior”)_ The original “Mad Max” was basically a ‘buddy gets his revenge’ movie with a ‘the world is going to hell’ vibe to try to make it different from all the others; “Road Warrior” completely fleshed out the post-apocalyptic scenario. _ **-“BB”-** _ ---
