**Movies with a scene in an abandoned house** (the movie can be set there, or just have a single scene there; it can be a long-abandoned, decrepit house, or a recently, hurriedly abandoned one, or whatever, just ABANDONED) 1. _The Blair Witch Project_ 2. _Hell House LLC_ At first glance it’s just another “found footage” mockumentary ala _The Blair Witch Project_, but I found it wholly original and actually gave me a good scare without relying on jump-scare gotcha scenes (except for the last scene, which was kinda cheap). ---

**Sequels better than the original** 1. Thor: Ragnarok 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. The Bride of Frankenstein 4. The Godfather Part II 5. Hot Shots Part Deux 6. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets The kid actors are a year older and more experienced, it introduces Lucius Malfoy and Dobby, and it has Kenneth Branagh perfectly playing the arrogant-but-incompetent Gilderoy Lockhart. ---
