**Films that have a lot of sequels and/or spin-offs** 1. _Despicable Me_ - four in the main series, and three _Minions_ movies 2. _Alien_ - Alien 1,2,3, and Alien Resurrection (2 centuries later), followed by two cross-over movies with the Predator franchise, two prequels and most recently stand alone story that takes place between the first two movies. 3. _Star Wars_ - the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, and sequel trilogy, all numbered with Roman numerals and called collectively “The Skywalker Saga”. Then we have an animated movie, _The Clone Wars_, which took place between episodes II and III and launched the animated series of the same name. We also have _Solo,_ _Rogue One,_ and now _The Mandalorian and Grogu._ 13 films in all, I think. And many TV series. 4. _Star Trek_ – the original movie, which was inspired by the TV show, which had five sequels with the original cast. Add to that four movies with the ‘Next Generation’ personnel, and then J.J. Abrams added three more in what is called ‘the Kelvin timeline’. So that’s thirteen right there — and there are rumored to be still more in the works. 5. _A Nightmare on Elm Street_ - 7 films in the original series, plus one crossover with _Friday the 13th_ called _Freddy vs. Jason_, and a reboot. ---
