Not quite sure how to post this: I thought the last **Harry Potter movie** was the worst, but **the first was the second-worst** , and I’ll take any of the intervening movies over the first. It’s very much a product of the decade that gave us _Blue Velvet_, _Glory_, and _Heathers_. I’m a lot better, thanks, as the film has faded from memory, but immediately post viewing, I was seriously bummed. ---

If another pops up and says “I call unlimited Goliaths!” the game is spoiled, and the point is lost. And it’s a bad movie, especially compared to the original. ---

The first film was magical; the sequel was weird, turgid, and had no real ending of its own, simply setting the stage for a third movie. It lost the plot as to what made the original film special, and much like _The Matrix_, my brain does not accept that _Curse of the Black Pearl_ had _ **any** _ sequels.
