Speaking of Showgirls what the hell is with Naomi’s hips? God damned squarest hips I ever seen on a woman. It was like she was born out of a box? That movie need a few kneecapping scenes for most of the main cast. Hell it needed it for the whole cast, crew, producers, and everyone who gave money to finance that shite. ---

Yes, another _Harold & Maude_ fan checking in (and made certain that my son saw it, too) BTW - the nude scene in the Crying Game was (IMHO) central to the plot. I suppose they could have just told us instead of showing, (as my SO did in a ‘country western song’ that he wrote “He’s a pointer, not a setter…”), but I don’t think it would have been as effective. I commented in the other thread about gratuitous nudity in film that, in general, moviedom has no difficulty showing a woman’s body, nor the back side of a mans, however, I’m really troubled by all the scenes where you have the male character in bed, having just had some sexual encounter, phone rings, up he leaps, **wearing his boxers**. Sigh. ---

Not that I really need more titty shots in movies, but it is one of those odd film conventions that doesn’t have anything to do with real-life behavior. Or you could do what Marisa Tomei does in _What Women Want_, and wear a Victoria’s Secret Suit of Lingerie Armor on your top half… ---

Wheeee! Back from a long weekend with some more thoughts on naked people! **wring** - I totally agree about the “girls show it all, men show nothing” deal that most films have going. A couple of notable exceptions- _The Thomas Crown Affair_- I was disappointed to admit that Pierce Brosnan naked wasn’t that great. But having Rene Russo naked at her age was GREAT! I was proud of her! _NYPD Blue_- The most recent love scene with Rick Schroeder and the actress who plays Diane- we saw damn near all that Ricky had to offer, but only saw her elbow and shoulder! Good for ABC! Also, _Waking Ned Devine_ was mentioned earlier. I loved that scene! I thought it was great, and he looked pretty good for being 80-something! But didn’t we see his weenie, or did I just insert that mentally (so to speak)? _The Crying Game_- I totally agree that the scene was absolutely essential to the integrity of the film. Having said that, most people were rather unprepared for seeing that cock, and I know my husband felt like doing the same thing Stephen Rea did when he saw it. Now, if you ask them, most if not all guys will say, “oh, I knew she was a he, I didn’t fall for it, blah blah blah” but I think that’s crap. They just don’t want to admit that the girl they found so sexy had a penis. ---

I noticed _Harold and Maude_ came up a few times on this thread, but no one ever went into any detail about its nude scene. Me, I’ve seen _Harold and Maude_, and it really is a sweet movie, but I’ve never seen the nude scene. It’s my understanding that the director originally intended a long scene of Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon making love, and that he actually shot the scene. The studio balked at this, however, and it was cut. I’ve never seen this scene, and I’m unaware of any version of the movie with the nude scene in it. It might exist, but I don’t know. Does anyone have any idea? ---

I am completely sick of nude scenes. I can’t even watch a movie with my boyfriend without seeing tits, like damn why aren’t I seeing a guy’s dick too?? And this is how I’m a feminist, and only in this way. There are to many movies that are just meant for men’s eyes. Like damn if I want to watch a porno with my man I will watch porn, I don’t want to see it in my movies! ---
