Just the other day, I said, “Now _there’s_ something you don’t see every day,” a line I first heard on the old _Bullwinkle Show_. (I was commenting on the phantom suit of armor in last night’s _Witchblade_ on TNT, a made-for-TV movie I did not care for. So little happened, and yet I kept watching, thinking, “Maybe it gets better in the last hour.” Nope.) (It was SOOOO predictable. As soon as the Bad Guy appeared, I thought, “Well, we know whose ass she’s going to kick in the last fifteen minutes of the movie.” I was right.) ---

Applicable in almost any situation: “It’s good to be the king.” (History of the World, Part I) Particularly fun when you’re in a board meeting and someone isn’t willing to meet you in compromise: “Gimme some sugar, baby.” (Army of Darkness) One that creeps in at odd times (from a cartoon, not a movie): “OK, lady, I love you, buh-bye!” Most effective if you can manage Mindy’s high squeaky voice. At restaurants where the waitresses flirt with you (Outback Steakhouse comes to mind, among others): “And, then, the oral sex!” (MPATHG, of course) ---

God I love Clue and Ghostbusters! Though I don’t quote 'em that much. You can easily work “Where’s the fun in that?” from Jurassic Park in to everyday life. Watch it to get the accent and inflection right. Jaws quotes are good, too: “Here’s to swimmin’ with bowlegged women.” \*Half sing, half hum “Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies, farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain” (Occasionally used like when Quint maxes-out the engine on the Orca going to shore near the end, for when you speed up in your car to pass somebody.) “You rich?” … “How much?” “SON-of-a-BITCH!” (Said by Quint as Brody and his wife are walking along the docks towards the Orca, before they put to sea. Watch and listen carefully for the special emphasis Quint puts into this.) “Awww FUCK!” (by Roy Schieder in the out-takes on the 25th Anniv. DVD.
