Great recommendations! Let me add Nice Girls Don’t Explode, for any daughter who had a mother. For a more cynical take on the screwball comedy, see the works of Preston Sturges. The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek is a good start. ---

I strongly suggest watching [Oscar](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_(1991_film)#Reception) if you like screwball comedies. I know that Stallone and comedy don’t seem to go together but when you add in a host of wonderful character actors including Kurtwood Smith, Don Ameche, Marisa Tomei, Tim Curry, Chazz Palminteri and a Kirk Douglas cameo all under the direction of John Landis - it’s gonna be good.
