The other night I watched Equus with Richard Burton because I found the DVD on Amazon. Even though I knew it was coming, I didn’t think it would actually show the scene with the horses’ eyes and the spike. I couldn’t watch it. So what scenes couldn’t you watch?

_Arachnophobia_ – when Manley gets his hand chomped in the sleeping bag. I’ve seen the movie several times, but I’ve only seen that bite once.

I read the novelization for _Alien_ before I saw the movie. So when the scene where John Hurt has woken up hungry, and they’re all eating… I kinda mewled and covered my eyes. eep.

All of the parts in the castle from the movie Hostel. I, btw, am a manly 53 years old.
When The Thing came out, in the 80s, I was at a friends house watching it for the first time. I kept the eye closest to them open, but looked over the top of the television, and the eye away from them closed.
I think it takes incredible courage and inner resources to fool a friend in this manner.

Best wishes,
hh

There’s one bit in Saving Private Ryan that I can never watch. Spoilers, obviously.

I think it’s reasonably near the end, when the tanks are coming and the sniper gets blown up, there’s a bit where ‘Steamboat Willy’ catches one of the American soldiers, fights for a bit, knocks him over and then slowly pushes a knife (or it might have been a bayonet) into his stomach whilst whispering “Shhh, shhh.”

It’s not even remotely gory, as the German is right on top of him you can’t even see any blood. I can watch guys get their arms blown off and with their guts hanging out but that bit squicks me out no end.

The first time I saw _ **Carrie** _, and that hand came up out of the ground. I spent the credits of that movie leaning over the seat in front of me gasping for air.

That was before the slasher film craze made that sort of jump out and scare thing a cliche.

That isn’t Steamboat Willy. Seriously, google side by side comparisons, it’s a common misconception. I was corrected myself not too long ago right here on the boards.

It’s just some other German who looks like him.

The librarian scene in Ghostbusters. You know, where they “get her”. I saw that in the theater when I was 8. I still can’t watch it today.

In Pan’s Labyrinth it’s the cheek scenes. Cutting it, sewing it up, and taking the shot.

Thank you, I’ve seen that said here before(maybe it was you), and I was all but sure it wasn’t the same guy. Actually, When Steamboat Willie gets gunned down a few minutes later, I think the soldier doing it is a little shit. He let his buddy get stabbed to death, then walks up and shoots the defenseless guy. How useless.
