In The Fly 2, when they showed the inside out dog. That was totally unnecessary.

That movie was totally unnecessary.

SYBIL- the Sally Field’s one- when the mom hoists little Sybil’s legs up and takes the button hook…

Actually, When Steamboat Willie gets gunned down a few minutes later, I think the soldier doing it is a little shit. He let his buddy get stabbed to death, then walks up and shoots the defenseless guy. How useless.

[Seems you’re right](http://www.sproe.com/s/steamboat-comparison.html), thought it was Steamboat Willie, they look just the same. Learn something new every day.

Still squicks me out though…

There is only one scene in my \*entire history of movie watching \*that I would not be able to view again (can’t believe it’s not yet been mentioned).

It’s in American History X. One dude forces another dude to…ack, I can’t even bear to describe it. Let’s just say it involves a jaw and a curb and leave it at that.

Mine is in _The Fly_ the first, when Goldblum arm wrestles the guy in the bar. I can gleefully watch every single disgusting scene in the rest of that movie, but not that one. I think it’s too realistic, especially compared to how over the top the rest of the film is.

Another one is _Robocop_. There’s plenty of violence in that movie, and I don’t have a problem with any of it _except_ when Murphy gets his hand shot off by Boddicker. A couple of moments later when he’s being riddled with bullets? No problem. But the hand - ugh.

Ugh, yes, that arm breaking scene is just _shudder._ There’s a similar effect in one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies when a girl is lifting weights. Blurgh.

I’ve never found a theater in Spokane playing this movie. I have to wait for the dvd I guess. Liked the book.

The cannibal house – or I guess, more accurately, the basement of the house where the future victims are um, \*stored \*-- is one reason I don’t want to see the movie of _The Road_. Just imagining that house of horrors reading the book is enough. I don’t think I could bear to see it actualized.

I didn’t think I would have a response to this thread, but I realized after someone else posted it that I couldn’t look at the hobbling scene in _Misery_ on a second viewing. I’m not even sure it’s actually shown. Just Kathy Bates’ mighty swing and those defenseless ankles … gah.

**Titus** - when Lavinia shows why she can’t name her attackers. It’s too much to bear.

**Mulholland Drive** is one of my all-time favorite movies, but I tend to look away for a moment when they find the corpse in the apartment.

Ditto. I hadn’t even heard of this movie until a few minutes ago. I checked for the scene on YouTube and got nuthin’.

We need to make a rule: No cryptic descriptions without accompanying video links 😛

The scene in **Gangs of New York** when Bill finds out that Amsterdam is the orphaned son of Preach. I knew he wasn’t going to kill Amsterdam–too early in the movie for that! But the tension just climbed higher and higher and the violence got worse, and I really couldn’t bare to look any more.

Oh, and the scene between Harvey Keitel and Jody Foster in **Taxi Driver**. It was probably the most violent scene in the movie and it was all soft-lights and whispered words.

Evil Dead 2 - the whole movie is a splatterhouse of gore (which I love) but when Ash stamps the trapdoor down on Henrietta’s head and the eyeball flies across the room striaght into the girls mouth, EEEEEWWWWWW!!!

I also hate anything “real” eg. Sam Raimi did it again in Darkman - basically a whole movie of crazy stunts, explosions and fights but the VERY worst bit is where our hero gets a rivet stuck in his hand. I can literally feel it every time I watch it.

Seems like some movies have that “push over the cliff” on a particular gag that really hits home and makes you worry.

How about the barking half-dogs from one of the _Living Dead_ sequels?

Not to mention MutantBoy getting run over by the car of his confederate, and becoming salsa on the windshield.

IIRC, the guy murders her on the bed, and the camera slowly pulls back from above, showing only her lifeless face in the blinking light.

This is exactly what I came in here to post. That movie is fabulous for it since it’s rare I actually flinch or have to look away, and, of course, because of the zombie vs. shark scene.

My husband and I just watched AntiChrist by Lars von Trier. There were a couple of scenes that were pretty hard to watch, but one came so fast and unexpected. (A log to the cock.) My husband did cover his eyes during one that we saw coming. (Scissors vs. labia, scissors win.)
