I was listening to my collection of James Bond Theme Songs, and noticed that two of them (\*Goldfinger \*and _The Man With The Golden Gun_) are songs specifically about the villain of the movie. But try as I might, I couldn’t think of any other movies where the movie theme song itself (not some incidental song or theme in the soundtrack) is about the villain. But there must be some others. What am I missing? ---

It’s not a movie, but the Scorpio theme from the Simpsons’ episode “You Only Move Twice” is a spot on riff on the concept. ---

The sticking point is “theme” songs. I can think of many memorable movie songs about villains, but very few of those are the main theme songs of the movies. Examples? “Cruella DeVil” from _ **101 Dalmatians** _ “Gaston” from _ **Beauty and the Beast** _ One “theme” song that might count is “Ave Satani” (Hail Satan!), from _ **The Omen.** _ Even though he’s never seen, Satan is the implied villain of that movie, isn’t he? ---

Hmm… is Fascist (literally) teacher Jean Brodie a villain in _ **The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie** _? If so, then Rod McKuen’s “Jean,” the theme song of that movie, may count. ---

_Magic Dance_ from the movie _Labyrinth_ is about the villain. The ubiquitous _Let it Go_ from _Frozen_ is also the apparent antagonist’s theme. _Springtime for Hitler_ is the main song from _The Producers_. ---

The song that is played during the opening of the film when Benjamin is passing thru LAX is _Sounds of Silence_. It plays again at the end after Benjamin and Elaine get on the bus and the credits roll. That would usually count as the main theme song. _Mrs. Robinson_ is played quite near the end when Benjamin is driving around before the wedding. “Soft villain” my patootie. ---
